When you click through to Amazon from DropSignal and buy something within 24 hours, we earn a small commission. You pay the same price either way. We do not take payment from brands or sellers for placement.
01Amazon Associates Programme
DropSignal is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk and other Amazon EU websites.
Our Amazon Associates tag is tomwhitey10-21. Every outbound link to Amazon on this site is tagged. You can spot the tag yourself: hover any "View on Amazon" button and you'll see tag=tomwhitey10-21 in the destination URL.
02How commission works
- You click a deal link on DropSignal.
- You're taken to Amazon UK with our affiliate tag attached.
- If you buy anything on Amazon within the next 24 hours, Amazon pays us a small commission on that order.
- The commission rate varies by product category — typically 1% to 8%.
- The price you pay does not change. Amazon pays the commission out of its own margin, not yours.
03What does not change because of affiliate revenue
We want this to be explicit because it's the place where most affiliate sites lose credibility:
- Our score has no input from commission rate. The scoring code is in our repository at
src/lib/scoring.ts. You can audit it. - We do not take payment for placement. No brand, retailer, or third party has ever paid DropSignal to feature, boost, or shape coverage of a product. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly on every affected page and disclose the arrangement here within 24 hours.
- Editorial decisions are insulated from revenue. The editor who decides whether a candidate gets published does not see commission projections at the point of decision.
- We will publish negative coverage of products we'd earn commission from. If something is a bad deal, we'll say so.
04Where else this disclosure appears
- On every deal detail page, in the action block immediately under the "View on Amazon" button.
- In our site footer, on every page.
- In every email we send (digest, alert, transactional).
- On our Telegram channel description.
- In our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
05If you'd rather not contribute
That's completely fine and we still want you to find the right product. Options:
- Copy the product title from our page and search for it directly on Amazon — no tag attached.
- Type the ASIN (the 10-character code we display on every deal page, e.g.
B0BY8R3F1Z) into the Amazon URL:amazon.co.uk/dp/ASIN. - Use a different Amazon UK referrer of your choice.
06Regulatory compliance
This disclosure is published to comply with:
- The Amazon EU Associates Programme Operating Agreement.
- The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Code rules on affiliate marketing.
- The US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines, which apply to any DropSignal content reaching US audiences.
- The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (as retained in UK law).
07Other affiliate programmes
DropSignal currently participates only in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. We are not part of any other affiliate network. If that changes, we will disclose it here and on every affected page within 24 hours of activation.
